You could call Emmett bony and skinny. And it'd most likely be true. But over the last few weeks, Caylee had found the most comfortable position to lay in, and that was sideways on the bed with her head on Emmett's stomach. Which was where she was now. Laying on Emmett's bed, with Emmett's hand running through her hair as soft music played in the background. This study session had quickly dissolved into a cat nap between the two. Well, maybe it had. Caylee wasn't asleep, though her eyes were closed lightly. Emmett's shallow breathing might mean that he was asleep, but then again, the air was just so relaxing that he could be in the same state that Cay was in now.
No words had been said besides a few lost song lyrics here and there. A history text book was laying a few inches from Caylee's body, pages side down. The Vietnam Chapters were saved, more specifically, the Youth Movement. It was something that they both knew pretty well. So, it wasn't a big surprise that the studying had ended a while ago. Caylee was pretty sure that she had asked for the extra help in the subject that she was best at, just at the hope that this would be what it turned into. Then again, being in the throws of young love, mostly everything turned into this.
Caylee turned her head slightly, nuzzling it into the material of Emmett's shirt. The motion of her head made his fingers shake through her hair a little more, making her smile.
"Failing my history test will be so worth it," she murmured, speaking the first words in a while. She guessed this would be the test to Ememtt's consciousness.

Whether the test was a pass or fail wouldn't matter as it was the kind of thing that was only being experimented not graded. Still, the results stood, Emmett was asleep and he had been since the start. Otherwise he would have told her she wouldn't be failing at all, as neither of them would. They knew all this shit, they didn't even need the two minutes of studying that they had done.
He'd been rather quiet even before he'd dozed off. Emmett had a voice mail earlier that day which held the voice of a doctor and another with the voice of his mother. The one from his mom was pretty tame and she told him she'd tell him what the doctor said when he gave her a call back. Don't bet on it mama. As for the second voice mail it was clear the Doc must have also just left a message on the machine at home since his calling Emmett meant the two adults hadn't actually exchanged words or else he wouldn't have called the young boy. Before he relieved the answer to the mystery of what was wrong with Emmett Lloyd, waiting until the very last moment Emmett hung up the phone cutting the doctor off in the middle of the word 'called'. He didn't want to know what it was called. He was too afraid. This voicemail had been picked up early this morning and Emmett had long forgotten about it though it still must have sat in the back of his mind most the afternoon.

"...Emmie?" Caylee's eyes opened up. She tilted her head up at her boyfriend. Holding in an aww, she smiled at his sleeping face. Any innocence he possessed seemed to be multiplied as he slept. It could be the only time of his day that he didn't have anything to plague him.
Caylee reached up gently and slid Emmett's hand down from her hair to her cheek, rubbing against it gently. She kissed his thumb and the skin between his thumb and index finger. It was a good wake up call. He could get sleep later, right now she wanted conscious attention. And the best way to get that was unconscious stimulation.

He turned his head into his pillow, rubbing lightly into it now. Emmett's other hand laid lifelessly on her near her hip, tilted on it's side. It would seem he'd continued stroking her hair in his sleep as he dozed off, the action not stopping just because his eyes had shut and darkness and silence filled his mind. Her movements were what caused him to smooth his face into his pillow and his right leg pulled up a bit before stretching out like it had been before.

Caylee grinned at the reactions. She tried to shimmy up to Emmie's side. When she did succeed, Emmett was still sleeping. Heh, silly Emmie.
She kissed his neck softly, then his jaw. "Wakey, wakey Emmie..." she murmured into his skin. Her legs felt slightly cramped, the jean material becoming stiff without any movement of her legs. She stretched them out slightly against Emmett's legs, then wrapped around them.

Emmett wasn't fully wakey wakey but even if his eyes still closed he turned his head around and kissed her forehead lightly to show he wasn't ignoring her. He was just tired as fuck. His arm behind her, his left hand came against her back and he sighed against her skin, he wasn't ready to wake. But he knew she'd make him so he might as well take it slow to enjoy the time he did have left, even if it was only seconds.

Caylee returned a kiss on his cheek. She loved how he attached himself to her, even when he wasn't fully awake. When he sighed, she shrugged her shoulder up slightly, but then played it off to get closer to him. She kept her face under his chin, nuzzling against him. She took a more relaxed approach to wake him up. She still kissed him, but she didn't do it as passionately as she would've if she wanted him up NOW.

He was thankful of her gentle actions, which gave him a more eased awakening rather than a rushed one. "...go to sleep." he asked of her quietly hoping, but knowing it'd hardly convince her to let him rest some more. It's not like he needed it, not at all. It was a mystery as why he seemed to tried now.

"Nooo..." she shook her head into his neck. "You wake up...."
Now she was beginning to take a more direct approach. She picked her head up slightly and kissed up Emmett's jaw and then to his lips. She pried them open with the tip of her tongue. She could get her man up if she wanted to.

Okay okay now he was awake whether he liked it or not. Thanks a lot Caylee. He groaned and sat up slightly. He pulled out of the kiss, kissed her lips gently, and then leaned his back against the pillows to keep him up. "You're impossible - in the best way there is." he assured her so she would know he was only joking.

Caylee grinned in response. She curled up at his side. The image of them would portray Emmett as the man, the hunk of the relationship, and Caylee as his humble servant, bending over backwards to meet his every need. The picture had no idea how correct it was. On some levels, she supposed.
"Good morning," even though it was way into the evening. "... any chance of that little debacle continuing?" talking about his little wake up call.

"May, I love you but I'm so out of it. It should be illegal." he explained and tilted his head back as he seriously was ready to go out again. Emmett had been sleeping like wow lately but right now it had to do with not really wanting to be awake to face the day.

"Kissing me should be illegal?" Caylee gave a mock sort of scoffs. She brought one of his arms down and around herself, his hand landing on her stomach, "Thanks a lot, Em," she gave him a pout and nuzzled him innocently.

"Noooooooo..." he groaned in protest and couldn't believe she was twisting his words up like that. "It should be illegal - how out of it I am right now." Okay all this talking was walking him up and they just would not do. He shut up after that and felt his eye lids get heavy. His body slid down just slightly while his head hung, an obvious sign that he was out and gone again.

"...Em?" was he asleep already? That wasn't fair! She had spent all that effort getting him up! He couldn't go right back to sleep. Up, up, up!
She rested against him slightly, turning, but staying so his arm remained around her, and positioning herself at his ear. She spoke into it softly and velvety, making sure that her lips touched his sensitive skin ever so lightly. "If you're going to go to bed, you should at least get changed into something... comfortable."
