Emmett tried to pull his face away from her. "Maaay..." he squirmed and right away her words had got him up again but this time he sat up all the way and didn't give her any eye contact. "You're horrible."

"And you love me for it," she pouted for only a second after his arm left her waist. She crawled up to his side and sat behind him, her legs stretched out to his sides. She kissed his neck and shoulders. "You do love me, don't you?"

"You know I do." he told her dully but not in such a bored lame tone anymore. He was more awake now and slightly more amused.

Caylee laughed, pleased with his answer. "That I do..." she set her chin onto his shoulder. "But I'm serious. If you're going to go to sleep, at least put on sweats or something so you're not hating yourself when you wake up. I was going to steal a pair myself if you didn't wake up."

He scoffed. "As if you're going to let me sleep." he shook his head and glance over at her from the corners of his eyes. "Yeah, I don't think so."

"I would let you sleep if I thought you needed it!" Caylee protested. "You've been sleeping so much lately, I don't know what's gotten into you. Have you been taking meds? Seriously. You're picking sleep over me. I think something's wrong with you."

He shivered, the room too cold for his liking. He pulled the covers up to his shoulders and draped it over them. "Just what I always have to take..." he mumbled and cleared his throat. Emmett didn't mean to pick sleep over her, he was always thankful for her company of course and right now he even looked behind him at her and gave a small smile.

She returned the smile, of course. Caylee guided Emmett down with her hands and laid him on his side, making sure the covers were keeping him warm. She stayed behind him, her legs crossed Indian style. She rubbed his arm gently, sometimes using her palm, sometimes using her fingers. "What do you want me to do while you sleep? Any work you need to get done?"

"What? What do you mean?" he questioned her and turned over so he was facing her. He looked at her with curiosity pulled his legs in trying to get away from the untouched cold spots of the mattress.

"You're going back to sleep aren't you?" Caylee asked. "I'm not tired, and I don't want to be bored while you sleep. So, anything you need to get done? Chores, homework? Projects? I'm not picky."

"Rawr, I am not..." he mumbled once more. Chores? Was she serious? "Noo, I do not." he spoke clearly to her so hopefully she'd get the message the first time and stop being so silly, trying to do things for him.

"Then I guess you can't go to sleep," completely ignoring his first statement in order to make her statement. "Someone will have to occupy me. I'd hate it to be anything but you."

"How selfless of you." he pointed out in the most teasing way possible. His eyebrow was raised and he even showed her a bit of smirk along with his statement. Emmett couldn't help that he was being a sleepy-head-moritz lately. Maybe it was the meds. Well they'd never made him like this before. Then it could be many things. His new diet, the way he filled his day. Simply just the way that he felt through out his days. Again, many choices. So who could say what it was. But he wasn't in the best of moods recently, especially with the news that he'd still yet to tell Mary Jane about. And he did feel bad for not telling her but it wasn't because he just didn't want to let her know but because he wasn't ready to face the reality of it yet. It frightened him and right now he was just happy to be with her and making jokes. They were really joking jokes but at least they weren't doing nothing or fighting or- well their attitude towards one another was an acceptable one right now. So while things were moving along nicely between the two he just told himself to enjoy it. Though many worries still were heavy on his mind. It was taking a lot of effort not to think about that blasted phone call.

Caylee smiled at him brightly, pleased with the comment and the faux-truthfulness of it. She'd like to think of herself as very selfless. Especially when it came to Emmett. There was a lot of things that she had sacrificed. Some where things that she was willing to give up, others were stored away deep inside her to hide the regret.
She was willing to give up her friendship with Ari to help her relationship along with Emmett. Although there wasn't much Em could do about it if Caylee decided to be an asshole and continue to be friends with Ari even after he punched Emmett in the face. But Ari had also hurt Caylee, so it was easy to cut him out of her life. Maybe not for good, but long enough for the scar to stop burning.
But also, Caylee couldn't remember the last relationship she had that lasted this long that hadn't already gotten... you know. Intimate. Fun. Sex-filled. Filled with sex. And giving up that intimacy hadn't been easy for Caylee. It was like a drug, sex was. And Caylee was going through withdrawal. Not badly, not yet. She could hold out. She just didn't quite know for how long.
"Yes, I thought it was quite selfless," she told him with a sly smirk. "I'm giving up sleeping around for you. You should be grateful."

Grateful? Sure, why not. And as if she hadn't been giving up years and years of sleep for him since the first day she moved in with the Briggs. Oh wait. Sleeping around? Sex. Right. Okay, he was catching on. Not that he wanted to even think about Caylee 'sleeping around.' There fore head didn't even acknowledge it. Especially when she randomly threw that in, when really it wasn't exactly what they had been talking about. But that was Caylee, right? "I suppose." he said, with yes quite a sleepy overtone to his voice.
