"Actress, dancer, mostly a singer," she shrugged. "Emmie's the actor. You should hear the stories he tells. Ever since I was a little girl, I was always singing."

Pru sat on her bed to arrange her photos. "Maybe that's why they roomed us together," she said thoughtfully. "I'm a singer too. And I play guitar."

"Sounds hardcore," Caylee commented. "You in a band, or something? You look like a band type."

She gave a little laugh. "No...no, I'm not. My dad's in a band, though. He's the one who taught me how to play."

"Is that him?" Caylee looked to the picture of Pru and a man. "Looks familiar. What's his band called? Maybe I heard of them."

"Yeah," Pru took the framed picture and held it out to Caylee. "Quinn Kelly. His with the Molotov Cocktails."

"Sounds... really, really familiar," she was in deep thought as she gazed at the photo. "Then again, I listen to so many bands, I couldn't name them all. That's cool though. That your dad is in a band. I hardly remember my real parents. They died when I was seven."

"My mom died when I was ten," Pru offered in hopes of connecting on another level with this girl. She didn't really have a lot of friends back home, and she knew Daddy would love to hear that she was making friends here.

"Sorry to hear that," she offered the picture back to Prudence. "That's how I found Emmie, though. I was put into foster home after foster home until I came to the Brigg's. I was nine. Never left them since."

"Oh. He really is your foster brother then," Pru said, slowly understanding. She put the picture back on the nightstand. "I thought you were just saying that."

"Nope," she shook her head. "Me and Emmie have been inseparable since I first met him. There were some times growing up that I thought that I was just something to occupy his time with. Like... his parents wanted to get him a pet, so they got me. But... I don't know, it never seemed that way when it was just me and him."

She gave a small smile, "That's cute, though, that you're really close. I'm an only child, always have been. My dad's pretty much my best friend."

"That's pretty cute in itself," Caylee laid back, her hands behind her head. "I don't even remember what my dad did for a living. I think he was a teacher... but I remember him being a construction worker or something."

"My mother was a jazz singer," Pru said as she unpacked. "She sang in a nightclub. When she wasn't doing that, she taught voice lessons."

"So you were pretty much surrounded by music your whole life," Caylee mused. "Hardcore."
