"Okay well..." he replied quietly. "Like I said, I kinda don't...think you should keep seeing him. He's just not a very...I don't know. I told you, he doesn't hit me as a very nice guy...So... you know, do whatever you want."

"If I knew what I wanted, that'd be a whole lot easier to do," she muttered under her breath. This was exactly where they were back at home. Not knowing what to do, and just avoiding the obvious attraction between them.

And there it was. Again. She didn't know what to do, which meant she obviously was considering that prick over the slight crazy possibility of Emmett. And he didn't want to have to go up against him. He felt like he was already out of the game. He dropped his head, looking over the patterns in the carpet. "He kinda...hits me as...jerk- I don't know..." fidgeting with his hands.

"I know, Emmie, I know," she said softly, her lips pouted in concentration. "He's not even an option. I trust your judgement."

He leaned forward with his elbows on his knees. "Not an...'option'? What do you mean?" If there was no option, what was there to decide? Now what was she saying? Why'd she have to be so confusing? Emmett could hardly stand it, but he stayed solid and calm, despite his growing frustrations.

"It's.. complicated," she told him. Problem was, she wasn't deciding on who, she was deciding on how. "Look, Emmie. I can either be really frank about this, or really vague. Which do you prefer?"

"...Okay, you're just scaring me now..." he told her honestly, not sure which to choose when she put it like that. "Is it...something bad? I mean, should I be scared?" he asked first, trying to be cautious. "I mean...I guess...I...maybe you should be frank. Cause I've been so lost the moment I stepped in here."

But she didn't answer him, just pulled him down by the front of his shirt and landing a hard, closed kiss to his lips. She held it there for a few seconds before releasing him. There. It probably freaked the hell out of him. And made him a whole lot more confused. But she got it out.

Emmett threw his hands to her knee and the back of the chair locking his arms, afraid of falling as she let go of his shirt. His eyes went down to her knee and he quickly pulled back the minute he noticed and he sat up. Staring forward, he fingered the hair out of his eyes. He was trembling and wasn't sure if he'd be able to find words. "...That wasn't...v-very...frank..." he told her honestly, pretty sure she just gave him the vague answer. Emmett glanced to her, an obvious blush upon his face and he gave her a twitch of a smile that didn't last. He just wanted to make sure she knew he wasn't upset or anything. He just wanted her to explain.

She gave a breathless, short laugh. "Well, think about it Emmie. You don't like Ari. I have to decide what to do. I kiss you. What do you think it means? I just don't go around kissing random guys." .... ah huh.

"C-can you kind of just...like...say it. Because Iiii don't want to make any assumptions..." he explained quietly. That was the last think he needed. To go get all these high hopes and expectations and it wasn't even what she really meant. Thought such an action was a bit hard to misinterpret, he still wanted to be sure.

She smiled, not quite sure where this sudden burst of confidence was coming from. She turned to him slightly and grabbed his hand. "Emmett Lloyd. I, Mary Jane, want... you."

"Like whhh-...What are we talking about here?" his eyes getting wider and his raised brow going higher. He tilted his head down, still staring hard at her, waiting for her to really be blunt. Not blunt and misleading, confusing, or not really obvious english.

"Back at home, it was you and Ari, right?" she explained softly. "And that was so stupid of me. You have always, and will always be the number one thing in my life. Every night I go to bed and you're the last thing I think of. If you're okay, if you have enough light. And every morning, you're my first though. If you slept well, if you had any nightmares. You should have no competition for anything, and I was so dense to not realize it before. Ari is an ass, even you saw it. Why would I settle for him, when I already had you?"

"That's..." after taking it all in. "really sweet. And I...feel the same way...b-but...so..." his eyes shifted around and he looked back at her nervously. "Where does that...leave us......?"
