"You should be," she put her chin on his shoulder. "I thought that you'd be all willing to come sit next to me but noooo. You had to go and hurt me like that."

"I did sit next to you!" he corrected, now get a little defensive. "I did! Right there. That is next to you."

"Yea, but facing awaaaay from me," she stated, now pouting. "If you sit next to me, but face away, it's saying that you can't even bear to look at my ugly face."

"Oh shut up. You know that's not true." giving her a soft glare. "Why do you always have to make everything I do out to be so mean?"

"Because beneath those layers of cuteness, dorkiness, and naiveness, beats absolutely no heart whatsoever," she gave a nod into his shoulder. "Good thing I'm attracted to evilness."

He cringed at her words and couldn't help speak against her, even knowing he'd just be causing trouble for himself. "Why do you always say thaaat...? he whined quietly. "You and that damn c word."

"What c-word do you meeean, Emmie?" she asked naively with a grin. "I say a lot of c-words. Cork, I say cork a lot. Cukoo, that's prominent in my vocabulary. Hm, I don't know what you could mean.... OH! Cuuuute? Is that it? Cuuute?"

Great. How did he not see this coming? Emmett shrugged away from her as he twitched and squirmed ever so slighly. He leaned away from here but there wasn't much to go since he was sitting in her lap. He rubbed his eye and whimpered quietly. "Dooon't staaarrt..."

"I am in a very playful mood," she pouted, bringing her arms around him tighter, wanting security that he wouldn't be leaving her. "And you won't play with me."

He relaxed, at least more than before, against her and rolled his eyes back to see her. "Play? What do you mean I won't play? Did you suggest any games? I don't believe so." She couldn't just say he wasn't playing when he didn't know there was something to be played.

"I don't mean literally play. You're just so... meeegh I'm Emmiiiie and I'm gonna be all seeeerious. Meeegh," she nuzzled her face into the crook of his neck. "I'm all sad now. No more playful Mary Jane."

Emmett curled up and squeezed shut his right eye. Caylee would do this in her sleep sometimes but now it made his teeth chatter. "I'm not being 'Meeggnnhhh seriiiooouuusss...' I'm just, you know, cause I didn't...um...I and...- I'ma stop talking..." obviously distracted, he wasn't even sure what he was talking about anymore.

Caylee let out a sigh into his neck, and tried to look up to him. It failed, however, when she could only see the underside of his chin. "I don't like being sad," she said in a soft, weak tone. "I wish I could have soooomeone to cheer me up."

His head tilted back for a moment as he twitched and squinted again. "Comfortable?" he asked her with a smirk, able to be amused by himself, for once. "I would cheer you up, but I'm being so seerriiioouuuss..." he reminded her. After a pause he started to hum to a musical number, but cursing himself at the same time since he'd never get the tune out of his head now.

"You cooooould...stop being serioooous. And you could play with me. And then I wouldn't be sad," she hugged him tighter and leaned back slightly. "But nope. You don't like me."
