"Don't start with that. You know exactly what I mean." he said after swallowing down his beverage. ...and then dove back in it. He wasn't sure if he should say more than that knowing some how she'd still challenge every word. Which actually just told him there was no use so he left it at that.

"I think you mean that you hate me," Caylee nodded her head, then leaned it onto his shoulder again. She sighed softly, nuzzling her cheek into his shirt. "... can I get you ice cream?"

"...I'm...actually kind of full...?" he was afraid to say as he bit down on his lip, not too hard as he already felt the corners were dry and would split if he wasn't careful. "I'm sorry. Thank you." he told her slowly and sweetly. "Can I get you some?" he tried to offer in return.

He lifted his head in thought as her words registered with him. "...oh...wow..." he started and gave an exhale of slow and calming shock. "I'd totally forgotten..." It had completely slipped his mind - the real reason they were out to begin with. It was not all about lunch.
