Caylee turned to the door once she heard the slightest sound of it being opened, her logic quickly telling her that it had to be Emmett since Ari had already arrived. The thought of it being Mark without Emmett never crossed her mind. Luckily for her, it was both of them. The long-lost pair.
She flung herself at Emmett the same she had done for Ari, though this embrace included a kiss on his cheek. She untangled herself from him after a moment, holding him out in her hands. "I just asked you to go get some dip, not go to the factory and make it yourself."

Emmett returned his greeting with his own polite meek, "Hello, how are you?" Marc had already taken the grocery bag Emmett when he'd been messing with his bike lock and chain. Afterward she refused to give it back, wanting to carry it for him. And it wasn't because he was sick or whatever, like the way some other people treated him at school. She handed the bag off to the birthday girl.

Caylee kicked her foot away with a wince. She shook her head with an eyeroll. "If Emmett would just like... start pummeling Ari into the ground, it might just be the hottest thing I've ever seen. ... just throwing it out there."
She took the dip out of bag and put it on the desk next to the chips, then turned around at her guests, leaning back on the desk, her hands behind her.

Caylee tilted her head, observing Emmett. He looked... normal. Meek, shy, uncomfortable. ... Normal. "If that was true, Emmett would have killed me at least a thousand times."
She ended the conversation by giggling at something that Pru had 'just said'. "Okay, okay. So, now that everyone has finally arrived," a glare at Emmett. "We can actually start the party! We could start with.... gifts. My personal favorite. Or... games. We could start a rousing game of Pin the Tail on the Emmett."

Marc laughed out loud at this, as well as Emmett's face-reaction from Caylee's glare. His frowning brows and smile as he shrunk back. She went ahead and moved between the girls to get to the chips. No dip, she ate them plain.
"Ha." he mocked Marc and gave her a dull glare that didn't come close to measuring up to Cay's glare skills. "No thanks." he put a hand up innocently, denying the offer of such a fun game.

Caylee gasped, "Oh no! Does that mean we have to move on to gifts?! How horrible, I never would have expected that! Well, I suppose we have to since Emmett will not sacrifice his bony bottom to our fun reindeer games," she turned to Pru and Marc. ".... Girls?"

Marc smiled back at Prudence and then to Caylee. That was all, no words needed to be said and she continued to stuff her face.
Emmett got the feeling the girls didn't want to present their gift first or something. Then again, maybe he was just paranoid. He hadn't picked his gift from anywhere fancy or special. Quite honestly he got it from a less than expensive free lance seller - but it was high quality shit! His mother actually has purchased from the same man. So it wasn't like he went and got it from vending machine or nothing like that. And he was quit fond of 'it', he hoped Caylee would be too.

"Chew before you swallow," she advised her dryly, giving her a playful glare at the lack of gift being presented. She moved over to her bed, moving Ari's jacket out of the way of her bum. A small black velvet box fell out of the pocket and hit her thigh gently. She picked it up quizzically, and looked at Ari. She quietly put the box back into his pocket, hopefully unnoticed by the rest of the room.
"I suppose we should turn our attention to Emmett's gift, then," Caylee pointed towards the ceiling. "I have no idea how, so don't ask, but he painted that above my bed when I was asleep," she informed the room.

Having already seen it from earlier that day - not to mention both roommates knew he was coming by early in the morning to do it, she just smiled and only glanced at it. She'd already made some gawks at it before.
With a shy down casted expression he stood their awkwardly as Cay mused over it and he didn't enjoy being stared at or his gift even being announced. At least one out of the two gifts anyway.

Caylee stared at him. Pru had been right, there was something a little funky about Ari. She got up slowly, her hand curling surreptitiously around the small box. It must've had something to do with that. "I'll go with you," she said. "In case someone walks by. You're not exactly supposed to be here," she glanced at Emmett, catching his eye and giving him a reassuring smile. Much truer than the one Ari had given her.

Caylee gave him a small glare, "I really think you should stay in the room, then. It's bad enough that you're a guy in here, but to be smoking too? You'd get your ass kicked by the teachers. Wait until the party's over."

Smile or no smile, what the hell was going on... Emmett's brows knitted while he watched to two from the corner of his eyes. Everyone else was looking at them, there wasn't much distraction so he wasn't going to try and hide his gaze either. Which didn't mean to say he could actually look straight on at them. This was just awkward and weird among many other uncomfortable descriptive words.

Caylee's glare melted as she looked down at her lap. "...Alright, I guess. If you're sure. Just don't get into trouble."

Caylee put the box into her pocket while she was sure no one was looking. She glanced up at Pru as she spoke, nodding slightly. "Who are you tellin'?"
She gave Emmett a pout, reaching out and grabbing for his hand.

Emmett slowly came closer to the edge of the bed and he took her hand in his. Gently. He felt horribly out of place for some reason. And his paranoia told him the rest of the room thought he was too. Even if no one was thinking that way, which they probably weren't, he couldn't help it. "He gave a rough sigh, and resisted throwing in his own words with Cay and Pru's little conversation.
