"Okay, okay," she nodded slowly, trying to work with this. "So just imagine yourself on your bed in your dorm. Just me and you hanging out like nothing's wrong. Just like we've been doing for the past seven years. How's that?"

"Wishful thinking." he replied and held her tighter since she didn't react, it must have been okay. He kind of wished the doctor was back, but not really. He wanted someone to make this better, but he was also glad it was just him and Mary Jane. "I'm hungry." he admitted, but ashamed to ask for anything.

"Another good thing," she nuzzled the top of his head gently. "We can get you some food in here. And then maybe some sleep? You really need to rest if you want to get out of here tomorrow," she kissed and held her lips to Emmett's head "Okay, Emmie L?"

"Oh, shit no, May." he potested with a groan. "I don't eat from the cafe., you actually think I'm putting anything made in a hospital in my mouth?" he almost couldn't finish the sentence, as just the phrase grossed himself out.

"Hey," she gave him an disapproving tap with her hand. "It's either you agree to eat food here, or they'll drug you up and force you to eat food here. Which do you prefer?"

"Neither..." he mumbled and layed back down. He pulled the sheet up to his shoulder and then pushed his hair back and out of his face. He wasn't that hungry, anyway. Emmett thought over his mother and it over whelmed him once more, blinking back heavy tears.

She laid back down with him, but sensed a feeling that she shouldn't be. It was a hospital, maybe it was against the rules or something. But shit, when did Caylee ever care about any rules? She kept her hand moving through Emmett's hair, taking control of it from Emmett. "You have to eat, Emmie," she murmured as she set her mouth on his shoulder, her words muffled.

"...I know......" he answered back softely, quite aware that wether he liked it or not he'd be stuck with this. All his issues with the food asside there was no doubt that he'd still be forced to some degree to eat it. Besides, he was hungry. Although he was flipping back and forth in words, he knew Cay could tell he actually was in fact starving. Right now he started to focus on keeping the pains in his torso down. His spine almost seemed to ache just over the thought of the spinal tap. His mother refused it though, and yet he was still worrying.

"Even the friendly neighborhood Spiderman needs to eat," she continued running her hand through his hair, slightly massaging his scalp. "Please let me get you something?" she stretched her neck up slightly and nibbled at the ends of Emmett's longer hairs. "Please, please, please?"

Emmett smirked slightly. She was definitely a big help in making him feel better. He especially had to hide a slightly painful grin as she went from her amazing head rubs that made him a slave - to turning the ends of his hair between her teeth. "I'll eat, I'll eat...but... can't they like...bring us something? I just don't...want you to...yeah..." He didn't want her to leave him.

"I have to go down to the lobby anyway," she continued munching on his hair. "Besides, I don't think they'll be able to bring me something too, just you. I'll only be gone a few minutes, I promise. You can listen to my music while I'm gone."

Bitting on is lip he nodded slowly after a moment of hesitation. He hated hospitals, boy did Emmett hate hospitals. And needles, and doctors, and- "Yeah...y-yeah okay..." Maybe the music would be able to help him. He could hear his doctor linging at the door, probably stopped by someone on his way back in. Great, just what Emmett wanted right now.

"I should probably give you some privacy when the doctor comes in, anyway. And think of how he'd react if he saw us like this," she rubbed his shoulder before giving it a small kiss. "C'mon, give me a kiss goodbye, Emmie L."

He did, soft but quick. He wasn't exactly in the mood for anything longer or for it to be really past any meaning of amily love. He just wanted to go home and he wished the doctor wasn't coming back, or that Caylee was leaving at all. He knew the time waiting for her to return wasn't going to be the shortest.

Caylee smiled at him, trying to install some fortunate hope in the small boy. She slipped off of the bed and fished around in her bag for a moment before pulling out her blue iPod. She untangled the wire from her non-Apple incorporated headphones and placed in on the bed in front of Emmett. "Go wild," she said, smoothing back his hair. "I'll be right back, with goodies galore." she gave him one last kiss and slipped out of the room, passed the doctor who was still involved in his conversation.
On the elevator going down, Caylee was by herself. She took an Emmett-esque pose, her shoulders hunched and her left hand gripping her right arm. Her foot tapped impatiently and she found herself wishing that Emmett was down there with her. The door opened with a chime, and Caylee stepped out into the hospital lobby. With an upward glance, she quickly found the hanging directory and that the cafeteria was to the left. She hiked her humongous bag onto her shoulder and headed towards the food.
She figured that the one thing that hospitals could not fuck up were salads. So she went to the refrigerated items, separated to her by think plastic strips hanging from the top of the refrigerated... thingy. She got herself a fruit salad, but then paused. Fruits and veggies were always tough for Emmett. She bit her lip, looking around for something that Emmett could eat. She spied the perfect thing. A vegan wrap. She took the two containers down and went to pick up two bottles of water to drink. She paid at the register and placed the containers into her bag.
On the way back to the elevators, she stopped walking and backtracked a few steps. If it was dark enough, you could probably make out the light bulb that just flashed above Caylee's head. She pivoted on her heel and walked into the Gift Shop.
On the way out, she picked up eight bars of candy. Two each of Crunch, Milky Ways, Three Musketeers, and Kit Kats. The perfect dessert. They went into the bag with the food and her surprise. She glanced at her cell phone. Damn, she had been gone for about fifteen minutes.
She raced to the elevator and took it back up to Emmett's floor. As soon as the elevator stopped she took off for Emmett's room, coming to a skid outside the door. The doctor was no where to be seen, and she prayed that he wasn't in the room. She opened the door slowly, and thankfully, she just saw Emmett in bed.
"...Delivery for a Mister Spiderman?"
