After a long day of confusion with campus housing, Jake was finally given a dorm for the school year. And not a single which he was kind of holding out for. He hoped his roommate was nice and not a jerk.
Jake rolled his suitcase down the hall towards his dormitory looking for room 216. Odd numbers on one side and even numbers on the other. 210...212...214...and 216... he thought to himself. He took out the key he was given at the campus housing office and put it into the lock turning the key.

"...Hi?" a voice behind him greeted questionably. Emmett was pulling his left arm out of his jacket, it was light anyway since it wasn't exactly jacket weather. He'd just come in from sitting out on the steps of the dorms. He'd even seen this guy walk by, moved out of the way a bit for him since he had a bag with him. Now he was standing infront of his own room and it began to cross his mind that this guy was new. Perfect. He looked just like the kind of guys Emmett would stay clear of- resembling those that hadn't been to kind to him in the past. Though you can't judge a book by it's cover he still couldn't help but worry a bit over it.

Jake jumped slightly at the greeting behind him and turned around spotting the smaller boy. "Hi..." he said slowly. Is this my roommate?

Flenching as he jumped, Emmett took a step back. When the guy spoke he cleared his own throat and put his arms to his sides letting this jacket drag on the floor. "Well...unless you have the wrong room number- Uh- I-I guess we're...heh..." oddly introducing himself as the boy who lived behind the door Jake was about to open. Suddenly Emmett started worrying about what was behind that door. What he might have laying out, if it was a mess. When was the last time he picked up his stuff? He'd moved in a few days before this so he had plently of time to dirty the place up a bit. Though really he wasn't one to just leave things laying around he'd become a bit lazy about it since he'd had noone sharing the room with him yet. Until now.

Jake cleared his throat. "I...I'm Jake. You must be my roommate..." he said slowly holding out his hand for Emmett to shake. This kid seemed scared of him which was a first. No one was ever scared of Jake. It was a bit odd.

Jake. It was so...sterotypicly teenage guitar musician pretty boy. Still it would have been better than something like Emmett. Emmett Lloyd. He couldn't even be like those people who go by their middle names in place of their first. He had just a little more distaste for his middle name than he had for just his first. And a stage name wasn't for him. That was Mary Jane's thing, but Emmett just couldn't do it. He hardly answered well to his very own birth name sometimes. His parents had attempted to give his first and middle name a twist on their own names. Emmett thought it was a bit silly though most parents tried for that. "Emmett." he replied, short on words though he didn't mean to be. He impulsively watched their hands and he found himself squeezing his back a lot looser than usual.

"Nice to meet you, Emmett," he said in a soft kind tone with a small smile. Okay, this guy doesn't seem too bad... He turned the knob and pushed the door open slowly, somewhat cautious of what was behind that door.
