Even with his jaw dropped he was still able to hint a smile. "...n-...heh...ha- No waaay... Really?" he stared at her as if he was waiting for a cruel 'just kidding'. This was Mary Jane's roommate. This was definitely a strange a cute, but an obvious almost clique one none the less. Emmett matted down his hair in the back and sank into his shoulders loosing all propper body stance. He couldn't believe the luck or chance of such a meeting. "...A-..all the time-...? heh..." a ring of pink forming above each cheek. He couldnt even begin to imagine what she had heard.

Pru nodded. "I'm not exaggerating, either. So, now that we know we're not exactly stragers, come sit down with me. Need help with your bike?"

"Oh I- ...I got it.." he said in an emotionless tone as he linked his arms around it where he could and brought it to the other side of the trail to where Prudence had been settled before. Before she was distracted from her art and pulled out of her doings to gather this poor pathetic creature out of the tall grass from his angelic leap to the ground. He was flattered by her offer and didn't dare turn her down. He wanted to- wanted to blather on about how he couldn't and how he shouldn't how he didn't want to intrude on her alone time. He could use another friend. And they were obviously suppose to meet sooner than planned so why fight it?

Prudence lead Emmett back to where'd been sitting beneath the tree. Her guitar, backback and case (complete with errant change) were still there, waiting for her. "Caylee thinks very highly of you," she said, settling down and taking her guitar back into her lap.

Emmett crossed his ankles and then lowered himself on the ground with her, to sit directly into a crossed leg position. His doc marts tucked under the sides of his knees he shlumped forward with his arms on the upper sides of his knees. His hands came to lace together and hold his head up from under his chin. He only looked at Prudence from the corners of his eyes. He couldn't help but feel silly as she talked about him this way indirectly from Caylee's words. "She must really bring me up a lot." he gathered, his teeth cringing and he shut his right eye.

"I don't blame her, really," Pru replied. She strummed an E chord thougtfully. "You're her brother and best friend. I would kill to have something like that."

"Gee, I'm so sorry you have to listen to her talk about me..." he said with a chuckle not far following. He could just see it now, the way Prudence made it sound. He almost felt foolish sitting there under her gaze at this very moment- considering she sounded like her ear was talked off over him. Now she had to deal with him sitting there next to her. He did kind of shrug down at her comment after. He tried to give her a small smirk with no words to reply to that. She seemed to be an only child, atleast he assumed. And obviously she didn't enjoy it much.

Pru shook her head. "No, I like it. I love how you and her are so close. It's just me and my dad right now and, well, that gets pretty lonely when he's out gigging most nights and you don't have a whole lot of friends to count on." She began strumming just the tune to one of her dad's songs as she spoke, one that he had put on the band's last CD.

The tune was familure but he'd never be able to back the connection of who he was actually sitting next to. "Like father like daughter..." he smiled as he said this softly, just noting that they both were into music obviously. Unless her father was like, just a roadie or something. "So I guess you and Caylee are getting along then? Cause I know she'll be a good friend to you, no doubt about that."

Another small smile from Pru. "She's already been really sweet to me. I've had a little bit of separation anxiety being away from my dad - she's always right there to cheer me up or comfort me."

"Heh...yeah s-she's like an expert for that." he nodded looking down. He wouldn't even start to give his own experiance of examples. Not that at the rate Caylee was going with all this talk about him that Prudence might already know more than Emmett would perfer, givie away himself, or was comfortable with. It was almost weird to sit next to someone who might know who knows what about you and you don't even know it. Frightenting really.

"It's nice, you know, to have a friend almost right away. We got off to a bit of a rough start. he school, when I enrolled, sent me a paper with information about dorming and everything. They said my roommate's name was Mary Jane. She nearly had a conniption when I called her that, though."

Emmett laughed as loosely as he probably head in the last month away from Caylee. Maybe the first time in a month without Caylee's help. Not that this wasn't related to her anyway, he just wasn't usually this open without her actually around. There with him, otherwise he wasn't normal like this, how he was being now. He could just picture what she was saying so perfectly. "Uh heh...yeah. Yeah, I can imagine. She's not exactly little miss Mary Jane since high school started."

"Where did she come up with that, anyway? What's wrong with being called Mary Jane?" Prudence asked. "She never exactly explained that to me."

"Uh well..." He usually wasn't one to speak for anyone, especially Mary Jane. He never even spoke for him self really. That was usually what MJ did. Though he suppose he knew the answer to this one. "I guess she just felt it was...uh..." searching for the right words to use. "I-ngh, I dunno. Maybe you should just ask her about it. I know the name came from this stuff cow of hers."
